Mohamed Salah Extends Apology to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad after the fallout from his televised remarks.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a European match following voicing frustrations and stating his connection to the head coach had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has refused to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the team's response stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” Jones added.
The midfielder also implied that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the matches since the initial controversy. He feels the outburst were not intended to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, getting results and securing victories.”
